Creating these AR filters were kind of a side project for me. I caught this trend right as it was available to developers and before anyone really knew how to create them or what to create them for. There were a few large creators popping up that started making them so I learned and taught myself. I created a few for my personal use and them created some for business as you can see below:
As you can see below the way that these filters were viewed and shared had a viral effect to them. These would be shared on an instagrm story for all of those users followers to see while displaying the creator of the filter and a link to their profile. I created a new Instagram account called Tulsa.ar with 0 followers and these are the metrics I saw when posting my filter.
I also decided to do a filter for the local coffee shops in my area allowing users at random to see which coffee shop they should go to that would increase local small business revenue.
I also got approached by one of those companies to design a filter for their new drinks they were launching. This feature randomly landed on a new drink Triangle coffee was offering and by sharing it on a customers social media and showing their proof at checkout they would receive 20% off of their bill while gaining loads of free impressions and views each time that filter was shared by a user. Here is how that launch went.
